Got a lot of great ideas out of this thread. I actually think I'm going to go hum neck/tele bridge with this project. Going to sift through responses and get some pickup ideas for each slot. I'll also most likely be sticking with the 5 way switch to get a few more switching options. Updates to follow.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but add another vote for a Firebird mini-hum. That's the route I'm planning for my Tele; paired with a Hot Stack in the bridge.

I can't wait to see my guitar undergo a transformation. That's what I had intended to do.
My idea was a glossy 1 ply black guard with a Jerry Donahue bridge and nickel Pearly Gates neck that was splittable.

My plan for my Tele is similar; Pearly Gates neck, but there is already a Lil' 59 in the bridge of mine.

CapoFirstFret I don't think a Lil' 59 is what you're going for but I can highly recommend it.
