what to do? (Zerb?)

Re: what to do? (Zerb?)

oooooh, I just got back from band practice (w/ my band, not church) and I love these gauges. I really have to put more into bending strings, and it makes 'em scream and sing with emotion. It's just pure Strat bliss.

So then what you're saying is that you use big gauge strings and mostly do chord or note work with 'em? I'll bet it's a bit more of a chore to do any serious bending with them big-boys. Even though Stevie Ray used big ga. strings like those, he had the neck on his favorite "#1" custom fretted with 6200 or 6300 super-jumbo fret wires to make bending easier, and if you ever watch him play on a tape or DVD you'll notice he strains at times to hit the high ones hard. His hands were extremely strong.
My Schecter has .11's on it with jumbo fret wires, D-tuned and it plays like butter.
Wait until you get older there young man! All that mondo-gauge string bending will catch up with ya someday....lol.

Juststrings (link somewhere above) has LaBella Baritone strings up to 15 -80 ;)
IIRC i gave you that link (on the old forum) when you were looking for 15-80's :p

Re: what to do? (Zerb?)

actually I bend alot. I just like to fight my guitar and my guitar fight back. Makes everything sound sooooo much better and real. I like to try and play what I play instead of play what I play, if that makes any sense.
