Here is my dilema:

I recently got a 2500 bonus from work. I want to buy a new amp head.

Here are my options:
Bogner Uberschall twin-jet 150
EVH 5150 III 100w EL34
Used Block letter Peavey 5150

or ... Kemper. (I know, hearsay)

I am kind of leaning towards the kemper for the versatility, but nothing beats the real amp.

I have no idea what I am going to buy. Looking for some helpful opinions.

Well, I'd say a Kemper if you need it for recording or need to cover a variety of tones live. If not, then go for a specialized amp with the gain you like.

Kemper...it is a "real amp"...it can actually beat the majority of "real amps"...

kemper doesnt feel like a "real amp" to me but they sound fine. id get what suits needs you dont have filled already

PS and it's STILL better than Kemper!

To play what style of music? Which guitars? Pickups? Pedals?

Don't rush to buy anything

Play a lot of nice amps and buy one when you feel like you can't live without it

I see the Orange Rockverb 50. That pretty much is what you are shopping for....just different.

Personally, I can't hate on a 5150 Block letter....but it's a one trick pony, but damn what a trick. I notice EVH gear. Of course, you need a cab with that.

As for the Kemper....there are modeling solutions more than adequate at way less cost.

But again what do you play mostly? or what would you like to do??? And where/how?

i used to work at a gc years ago, we did stuff like that all the time. the little crappy speaker is terrible but even through a good cab, its still pretty lackluster

For all the people who have asked, Playing in a glam metal band would be the main use. Gear is listed in my signature, only change has been I recently picked up a Charvel DK24, it is a heck of a guitar too

Laney or JCM 800/900

And!!! Speakers!!!!!

Open back v30's alone aren't very glam... give it some flavor by going halfsies with something else: mc90, g12-65, maybe h30
