What to look for when buying this guitar (1970s Greco)

Hi--I've been an acoustic player for a few years but would really like to transfer over to an electric sound--something a bit more antifolk-ish with a semi-hollow or hollow body (e.g., Shakey Graves). I saw this guitar online today and wondered if (i) anyone is familiar with Greco, (ii) if this is generally a good deal on this guitar and (iii) what to look/listen for when buying. Really appreciate any and all help!

Re: What to look for when buying this guitar (1970s Greco)

Well that is a super cool guitar and the price is really good for what it is.

Play it and make sure you like it obviously enough, there is a certain amount of funkiness with these guitars and you're either down with or you're not.

Make sure the neck isn't cracked especially behind the first fret. it can be well hidden if it's with the grain. If you can see if there is adjustment in the truss rod, they tend to freeze up on these old MIJ guitars. If it's not missing any binding, inlays are in good shape, all the normal stuff no reason not to grab it. You'll be the only guy at the gig with one which is kind of a fun thing.
