Trying to decide what final touches to give my hot-rodded Tribute.

What do you like best on a LP headstock?
  • Kluson-style tulips
  • Grover-style kidneys
  • Grover-style keystones
  • Schaller-style M6's
  • Something else?

Yeah, some Gibsons look best with Grover Imperials.

Edit: ah, the blacked out one? Kidneys would look fine on that one.

None of them really do much for me in black, but I'd go with what you're currently rocking and wouldn't change what you have.

I guess I could also consider white ovals LP Junior-style. My guitar does have a Junior-ish color scheme, in the end.

I put tuilp-style Gotohs on my PRS, love them. I don't hate the Grovers on my Studio, but I may end up swapping the Gotohs onto it.

I wouldn't change out the Gotohs in my guitar, but I would swap the tips.

There are those in black if I wanted to keep the whole blackout scheme.

Or white for some contrast and to match the nut and lettering on the poker chip and knobs.

I honestly feel more comfortable with plastic tuner tips because a. they're lighter (less neck dive) and b. I don't feel like I'm leaving my dirty fingerprints all over them all the time, LOL.

The current ones are way better than kidneys, not super duper different from tulips overall, and with the whole blackout thing I think white would look weird. I say keep em unless they feel bad.

I really dislike the factory Gibson plastic fake jade ones. They belong on a banjo. I prefer chrome ones, but that’s just me.
