I am using Sovtek WXT EL34's and Sovtek LPS 12AX7's. I would love to try a set of the Svetlana EL34's though. Does anyone know how they would compare to the Sovtek WXT's?

i use svetlana EL34´s, i guess they sound very britt to my, a bit moody but ok

A tighter, sweeter sound. The Svetlana's were highly recommended to me by several techs over the Sovteks.

I emailed Jerry from FJA Mods about switching the power tube type, and he gave me a clip of almost the exact tone I'm looking for that was recorded with a solid state ART preamp and a Fender Pro Reverb, so I'm convinced 6L6s will be fine. I just need to figure out what I want modded for my MP-1. I might even buy one of the ART preamps too.
