Over here in Europe we work in Metric, its not usually an issue to convert imperial to metric.

But all the dimension sizes on the seymour site seem to be in both ? For example an SH 4 pickup shows a size of 3.063 from screw mount to screw mount.

Is that 3 inchs and .063 of what ? I thought imperial used fractions as in 3/16. I am trying to work out the best replacement bridge size pickup for a strat ( SH or TB ) taking into account I have a custom made bridge which is slighltly more narrow then a standard bridge and an aftermarket Pickguard that is cut for a Gibson size HB.

Until I know what the .063 stands for I cannot measure up.

.063 inches. I would guess that it's not notated as a fraction because it didn't come out to a common fraction. it's just 3.063 inches.

I hope they dont build the space shuttle in those dimensions :usa1: :)

Thats 65 inchs Bert and errr about .00555 of an inch. eh?

Now to find a conversion program that puts that in Metric and were away :smack:

Re: What units are the Pickup DImensions in ?

the 0.063 is 63 thou. It's the inch equivalent of mm. 1 thou is 0.001 inches.
Just multiply or divide by 2.54 to get inches into cm.

1 cm is equal to 0.3937 inches. (393.7 thou).

(Assuming the inch in question is an international, but the US has adopted that I thinks ince the 50's, so there should be no problem)

Im all sorted now.

It seems the standard HBs fit my strat like a glove where the TB would be to wide at the poles.

Benefits of having non standard hardware I suppose !
