...amp-wise on "Killing Is My Business ...And Business Is Good?" I'm just curious if it was pretty much the same rig that he currently uses. Also any info on what he used in his Metallica days would be appreciated.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but the search feature doesn't take that album title very well.

Wasn't he using a marshall preamp into a hotwired JCM900 like Skolnick was from Testament? Then after that I think he just went straight marshall.

I doubt he would of been doing that in the mids 80's.

In metallica i think they used modded marshall JMPs, and he might have used the same on their first album. On peace sells i know they switched to 800's with rockmans. Not sure if they played in on KIMB or not though.

When I last saw Dave, all he was using was SuperWench! Was his wife a tad bit pretty or what? :)

There's a classic case of rock and role impersonation. You think one thing about someone just based off perceptions, then you meet them and the reality is somehwhat or completely different...

It can't be the same rig he is currently using--Chris Poland pawned all that stuff for heroin--ba-dum-chish! :laugh2:

I knew he couldn't literally have the same rig now that he used to. I was speaking in general since I knew he's been using Marshall for a long time and since Hetfield was using a modded Marshall...

I used to love reading that site, though it loses its appeal after seven or eight full read throughs. lol

There was another site like that but was way more in depth IMO, it went into the story behind almost all of their pieces of gear. It even had info about the gear they are using on there next record. Haven't been able to find it in awhile though.

Dave said once something to the effect of that he has always used Marshalls.

...could of just been pimping for an endorsement.

Dave and his wife were at the User Group Day. :)

I was kinda bummed out he didn't get up and play. Not his thing he said.

I just remember his better half was pretty hot. sorry for the hijack of the thread.

Now, if we want to talk about the advertisement of Dave and that looper phrase trainer thing... those were some funny pictures....

For the record, Chris pawned his own Marshall's not Dave's, and Garr pawned Dave's guitars, not Chris.

The most recent setups have been the Prophesy into Marshall poweramp. Previously, it was a JMP1 preamp insted.
