I do have a question about your phrasing... You say "original purpose" as if its intended purpose and what it ended up being used for are two different things.

My mind thought the same thing...

Good book reference, I think everyone should be able to do simple setups to their instruments. The only thing I'm not comfortable with yet is filing a nut... I'm too afraid I'll go too far. Lol
