Isn't that the photo of the one that was on sale on the Trading Post? As I recall, the person stated that they cut a hole in the case to accommodate a different tube.
glad it works for you but id break that on the first gig
It looks like the collector is jacked up.
It's only a collector if I no longer wanted it. This unit sounds excellent and it isn't going anywhere. I have just come across BK Butler Real Tube pedal and I have another Blue Tube pedal on the way. The only mods I will do to them are adding a 5814A (a military version of a 12AU7)
Too much dialed into the mids?
I imagine many would scratch their head on some of my "out-of-the-box" thinking projects (pun intended) but I always wanted to try an octal preamp tube in a tube preamp/ overdrive pedal. I still need to create a cage around the tube.
I love that type of thinking. Any sound clips?
I'm going to; you can hack a different valve and socket type into a pedal but don't know how to do clips [ a short sound recording ] ? your kidding aren't you ?Okay....don't laugh. I don't know how to provide clips and not sure I own the equipment for it.

It looks like the getter is crowding inside of the tube. The "vacuum" tube is obviously a vacuum & it's pos. that it may be burning too hot witch could account for the collapse??? I also like your out of the box thinking! Just be sure to be safe when you try these mods., them little tubes can have a butt load of current running through them so you'll prob. want it to stay inside? I'd try another tube & if it happens again then you will know if it was just that particular tube or if you will need to either rework your mod or try other possibilities? Good luck!!!
