What would be the best pickups for my new American Strat (Ash) for hard rock/metal

I was looking at the JB set, Cool & Hot rails. Any suggestions? Also the best configuration of the pickups. Please help.

If you have an HSS configuration JB/VintageRails/CoolRails would be my choice. Hot rails might be too hot for the neck.
This choices also depend on your amp's voicing. Is a dark or bright sounding amp?

I wouldn't go for the JB in an ash guitar, I find it too ice picky in alder, and ash is even a bit brighter to my ears. Hot rails sound nice in a tele I had, really beefed it up nicely if that is what you are going for. Other than that if I was going full size I'd probably go for something like a tone zone or air zone

My favorite guitar is a Swamp Ash body (no maple cap) with a maple/maple neck. JB in the bridge and A2Pro Humb in the neck. I have been trying to re-create this guitar, or make copies of it, for a couple of years, (always maple/maple necks, but sometimes maple caps and sometimes not). I Love JB's in Swamp Ash (esp. without the maple cap, but with a maple/maple neck), ((Swamp Ash body with maple cap, the JB can sound Ice-Picky, but sometimes, it rocks really good too. I tried a Custom, and a Custom/8 in the bridge of one. Custom was OK, but the Custom/8 was really cool too,(wound up leaving the JB in there, not sure which i liked better, probably the JB). and the custom and custom/8 i tried in a swamp ash body, no maple cap.

The cool rails suck, IMHO.

I'd go with 3x hot rails or with DD and 2x hot rails.

The YJM isn't bad either.
