go to a store and pick out a few brisk...the highway one, 04 mia, mim, ri....find you a marshall...and play away...that's the only way to really decide...then once you decide...go buy one used somewhere!

unless you get a slammin deal on a new one!!!???

Well if you want a humbucking tone from a telecaster why not put the pickups in series.

I have exactly that. When playing rhythm on the neck pickup its round and clear, but then i throw 'er into 4th gear and step on the DS-1 for the solo section. It beefs up the sound by about 1/2 from the series... The sound loses some clarity but becomes thick (high end is still there by the way and a little bit of twang too)
