This is the praise song "Famous One" with a Seraphim flare. It was completely recorded by me here on my computer with an $8 mic from Target and was recorded dry, then a little bit messed with in Nuendo. Sounds pretty good for a cheap mic. Whatta think.

P.S. That clean tone is NOT an acoustic, it's my EMG H! Told ya they sound godly!

I aboslutely love it! Great job.

I do like the clean sound... and the solo at the end - nice tone there as well - too bad the recording cut it off at the end.

As for the cheap mic - well, I guess it's like real estate - it's all about location, location, location. It sounds like you found the mic's sweet spot. (I may check out the Target mic next time I'm there)

The song is too sappy for my taste, and the clean tone sounds quite sterile, but the overall quality of your recording is impressive considering how you did it.

Sounds good to me! Decent for an $8 mic. Well, great for an $8 mic, decent for any mic.

:cool3: Thanks for sharing. BTW, if you change the bass note to the 3rd for the second measure of each phrase, it adds a great "implied" chord change (e.g., D to D/F#). That's in the original (but the tune did not suffer without it).

Chris Tomlin has some great tunes, yet he seems to have a symbiotic relationship with his capo;)

I don't know the song but you have a very good singing voice, good pitch and tone. I didn't think you needed all the echo on your voice though.

The clean is just the EMG H and the Attax clean.
The OD is the distortion on the amp set low because I use an OD
The solo is the EMG H with the amp and OD and the distortion with the bridge.

only thing i didn't like is that it should've been faster ;)

i like that song alot though, it's pretty powerful when done well.
