You already have a ton of pedals, just because you can squeeze another one in, doesn't necessarily mean you should.

But, that said, Vibes are really cool. I'm not a huge compressor guy, they can be nice too, especially on clean tones. They can also add a lot of noise to high gain sounds, so a head's up on that, but you have a NS-2 so you should be okay.

I'd get some sort of looper. Not only that it helps you improvise over chord progressions, but you can use it to create improvised arrangements. Also, you can set it up to repeat a phrase while you tweak your pedals and find new sounds. You can also walk around the room while it plays to hear your rig from other perspectives. Loopers can be very useful.

LOL! Yeah, Im not buying something just to fill the space. I was asking to see if there was something I may legitimately may need. I have no extra cash these days, so Id rather not buy a pedal if possible.. ; ) I have to come up with the money for a power supply and cables to connect the pedals first. I have rearranged the board for visual balance.. Once I get it up and running, Ill try it to see if the pedals work ok in the order I have it in now.. otherwise Ill have to rearrange.
Rat- mxr flange- A/DA flange (to shelf)
PV chorus - phase 90- tremolo- octave.

The switch is going bad on the chorus, so it may not last long.. Its a shame cuz its a great sounding pedal..

I believe I have most of the basics for pedals covered. I know there are a million pedals out there, many are diff versions of the ones I have,,, But... Im just wondering if there are any other pedals out there that are commonly used that would be considered a "must have" ? Im not talking something obscure that makes some weird sound that may have only ever been used in one obscure song. Please let me know what it is, what it does and maybe a song in which it was used. Im tying to complete my pedal boards. I have space for one more pedal on my board.. One pedal that comes to mind just now is a talk box. Others? Thanks!!

You do seem to have covered the bases. The biggest omission I see for a guy that likes pedals is a good looper. Quite a few good ones out there.

How do you use the Octave? I would have thought it would track better before all the other effects, but I don't have an analog octave down.

(Also, I'd probably use it with dry and Oct2 off, only using Oct1 as a synthy tone with filter, fuzz and phaser to make it even more synth-like)

LOL, the best way I've found not to spend $ is to not look ;-) Just yankin' yer chain, but you know what I mean, not sure if that is possible for geetar junkies.

TBH, the octave pedal has not be explored in alot of depth.. Ive fiddled with it some but its mostly been in storage. Pulled it out of the box and it looks brandy new.. Now that Im getting it board mounted to where I can use it, You can probably expect a thread on it.. hahaha Seriously, wish I could share some ultra cool wisdom on it, but all I can do is tell the truth...

LOL! I hear you my friend.. Thats why I wrote the descriptive post above. To state that Im NOT just hung up on buying something. Im wanting to make sure my bases are covered and thats it.. haha Right now, Im finally focusing on necessities. I cant afford G.A.S anymore.. Heck , can barely afford gas...

Hendrix covered a lot of bases with a fuzz, a wah, and a uni-vibe, and a totally unacceptable (by today's standards) high capacitance curly cable. Man are we spoiled now days ;-) (I'm joking with you, not at you, but, it's in your sig)

I'd vote for a compressor, looper, or synth (in that order of preference... at least for me). I like my compressor for even-ing out those songs where you go back and forth from full chords to single strings or for great sustain on my clean tones.

Try a joyo dyna comp ($30) and I'd check out a shimmer pedal too. Neunaber makes amazing pedals, that offer shimmer and many modes of reverb.

BAD.... haha Rock/blues/metal..Punk.. Not that really aspire to play punk, power chords about as good as I get.. I love hair metal, but dont have the chops..
