What's a good price for a 1980 Tokai LP?

I'm not shure what the actual street value of these things is. The seller wants 750 for it but I don't know. Do Tokai's have the same kind of laquer as Gibson? How do they compare?

I already have a very good playing and sounding Epi LP Custom but really want another guitar because the RG has to go. Would a Tokai be more of the same of would it be a much better guitar?

The Japan Tokais are usually fantastic quality. Alot of folks (myself included) have chosen the Japanese Les Paul clones over Gibsons offering for reasons other than the price.

$750 is a little high for stock, but the prices have been creeping up there recently. What condition is it in? Are the pickups original?

Personally I would say that the odds are that the Tokai would be an upgrade to the Epi. But for $250 less than that you could get a Burny or Greco used from Japan.

Tokais are great guitars, especially those 80's models.

Can't help you out on whether $750 is a good price or not but in the UK the prices are most definately on the up.
