What's a Great Lead pup for BLUES

I just got a THD Univalve and my Warmoth Strat has an EVO in the bridge - not liking the tones for what I'm doing now which is Blues-rock.My Warmoth strat has Fender Jimi Hendrix"voodoo" neck(reverse stagger), Texas special middle and want something vintagey but hot in the bridge what do you guys recommend? The Univalve allows for output tube distortion but I like a hot pickup anyway. BTW,I've tried the Duncan Distortion and don't like it

the patb3 is a great choice and i would say a pearly gates bridge is another good option

Pearly Gates Plus makes a nice balance with centre and neck single coils. More drive without being overwhelming.

I just replaced the magnet of my Distortion with an A5 i pulled from a Gibson pup. Had to flip the spacers sideways for the slimmer A5 mag. I wonder if it's a JB now as some say? It's better than the Evo but very vocal/vowel like. kinda honky too. Middle+bridge is very funky and unusually honky.

A real high output pup like the Evo or a distortion will cause too much compression to get the bite and attack you need for blues. The Pearly Gates is the best humbucker for blues rock that I know of.

Yeah that Evo was nice with My JSX( which I'm still debating selling) but for my Uvivalve ,which is low wattage and all about pushing output tube distortion the Evo was way too hot and low mid focussed and sounded messy and farty. I like this Duncan Distortion modded with an A5 much better, heck I might keep it in there it's actually quite nice!.

This is a little off the beaten trail, but I'm going to say Custom P-90.

For what I like, I think I'd call the Duncan Custom Shop and ask MJ to wind me a Duncan Antiquity bridge model wound to about 8.2K with a fully charged alnico 2 magnet. That would make me happy.

If that's what you're looking for, it would probably make you happy too. :)

I love the Phat Cat bridge for bluesy stuff. It sounds fantastic in that transition zone from clean to overdrive.
