I'm gonna have to go with guitars on this one. I've never actually owned a hot car--just Station Wagons and Vans, ever since I decided that I wanted to play music and realized I needed something to haul my gear around.

But guitars...hey, when I was younger, it was ALL about getting the girl!

I know... I'd love one of each!

In the end, I can collect many guitars, collecting many cars would require me to "collect" junkers.

My ideal Fender collection:

- Seafoam Green Strat with rosewood board (will have, pending upcoming refin)
- Olympic White Strat with maple board
- Candy Apple Red '60s Tele Custom RI with rosewood board (got it!)
- Black Tele with maple board
- Fiesta Red Jaguar
- Sherwood Green Jazzmaster
- Lake Placid Blue P-Bass

My two big ones were Black/Maple Strat and Ice Blue Metallic/Rosewood Strat, and I just completed both! (I've never been a huge fan of sunburst Strats, but I'm coming around to both the 50's and 60's style bursts lately as well) I think I still need a red (or two) and to finish off my Seafoam hardtail body I have here...

Guitars, motorcycles, cars & wimin': can't live without any of them.

You and I, sir, are like minded in this regard ... except I have to add guns to your list.

I don't think I've ever seen a sonic blue Strat. I absolutely love it.

I've never gotten into those colors, on any make or model of guitar. I don't want a guitar that reminds me of a car...except the limited run of Strats made for the Jaguar car company. OMG those are beautiful. Dark British racing green with a rosewood pickguard, gold hardware, and big cat inlays (Jaguar emblem). I'd buy one of those if they went into production. They're a work of art.

No kidding. I love cars and a good exotic from Europe does tickle my fancy, but Rat Rods are all special because you can't just go buy them. They have to be built with intent.

Good point! Wouldn't a rat rod be the equivalent of a Frankenstein? A think relic'ing my car would be intentionally making it look like I got car jacked by a three year old.

I love both, although it's much easier to scratch the guitar itch without having to spend a mint.

If I had to choose, it would come down to guitars. Life is a balance though, so I ended up going with a custom shop telecaster and an ES350.

I've never spent more on a car than a guitar, I always considered that to be a heinous thing, having a car worth more than a guitar.

And i never bought either to impress females or anyone else. If people don't like me, fine. I don't feel the need to impress anybody.

And i'm not getting older, but wiser. And hopefully more ludicrous.
