What's going on with the Custom Shop?

Re: What's going on with the Custom Shop?

I wasn't venting anger, I wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience, and possibly get a response from SD themselves (which I got). The problem is that you're trying to help solve the wrong problem. In fact, my problem has been solved. I'm adapting a stack with a special ring, which is already with me, and the only thing left to do is actually order the pickup. I had another thread asking for suggestions and that's where/who I got the ring idea from. You just didn't see that one. My point here was simply to understand what was going on with customer service. Maybe this issue will make SD change european distributors or at least have a serious talk with the current one. Or start selling CS pickups directly to europe, as they do everywhere else. Or nothing will change, but at least I'm now talking directly to them.

Well, they've created the single-coil-sized humbucker, and now strat owners can spend $76 on a new pickup instead of $1500 on a new guitar. Why not the reverse process?

Thank you for being one of the very few who understood SRV was an abbreviation of "beefed up, noiseless single coil tone". And about the ring, I did get one. Just deciding on which stack to get.

Final considerations, people. I'll wait for a response to this message, then close the thread. As I mentioned above, the problem is now solved. No point on more moving-train hopping.

I suggest this.

Re: What's going on with the Custom Shop?

It's one of my strongest options. A few posts back, I asked how would it be installed with a Liberator, since it's a 3-conductor pickup. Can you confirm it's feasible?

The red wire is only used for splitting. If you're never going to split it (aka, keep it noiseless by itself), just tape off the red wire. If you are going to split it, then that red wire goes to a switch where, when activated, the red wire is connected to ground.

Let me see if I got it right:
Pickup -> Liberator
white -> black
black -> green
"beige" -> bare
red -> red, white or tape it off

Well... Bare copper rather than "beige", but basically. I'd just tape off the the red.

I'm sure ArtieToo could confirm this for me, since he is our wiring guru. You around Artie?
