What's inside a Duncan Phat Cat pickup????

I'm just wondering how the coil is shaped. Is it a trimmed down P-90 size coil or is it wider and the size of the inside of the nickel cover? Lew

according to Evan, it's just a trimmed P-90 loaded with alnico II mags.

Boy...it sounds so different from a regular P90! I thought maybe the coil was wider so that possibly the magnetic field was wider as well and perhaps picking up a wider area of the string..

So it's just the alnico 2 magnets and whatever special wire and wind they used that makes it sound so much fatter and so much more like an a2 humbucker?

I think the metal covers have a lot to do with the difference in tone as well.
