Whats the depriciation on a new Les paul?

Ive been offered a Les Paul priced at 1600.00 at Musicians friend and may be able to snag it for 9 bills.
Now, at this time i really cannot afford such an expenditure unless its a ball blasting good deal.Even then it would be risky at my economic level.
Whats the depreciation of a new Les Paul?
Its a studio Std. premium Plus.

Depreciation is difficult to define. Value is derived not from inherent worth, but from that value someone is willing to attach it. Keep it for forty years and it will probably appreciate significantly because someone will see it as "antique/classic" and attach greater value to it. The real question is: "What is it worth to you?"

I am not seeing it myself.....

You can get a used Les Paul Standard for close to $1000 with some shopping.

I think no matter what, it is a buyer's market...if you take your time! There are literally millions of Gibson LP's out there, and they all came off an assembly line.

No matter what, there will always be a "better" one around the corner! It NEVER fails! Taking your time, and not making yourself like something, is the greatest antidote of "buyer's remorse". You don't come off as the youngest of whippersnappers anyway.

I love uttering "these were built on an assembly line, there is always another", when appropriate, as I check out gear/cars/whatever. When the buyer hears this, it kinda dulls the love-it/gotta-have-it impetuous nature of items that are obviously an emotional purchase!

I'm cheap! Spending $500 for a guitar these days, literally makes me feel weak in the knees!:boggled:

excellent advice. Same holds true for women. Im haveing the 1 year anniverssary of becoming too infatuated with one particualar one and getting ripped off. There are literally millions out there!
