What's the difference between the G12H30 and the G12H heritage?

Re: What's the difference between the G12H30 and the G12H heritage?

As far as Im concerned, theyre two totally different animals. The G12H greenback is in the heritage series, which is a cut above the normal stuff (more quality parts, more closer to vintage specs etc etc). The G12H is the high fidelity (originally made for heavy duty Marshall cabs that I think we used for bass) greenback over the lower wattage G12M. It supposedly has higher headroom and a more chunky low end. The G12H30 is like a combination of the vintage 30 and the standard greenback G12M (non heritage series).

Sorry Gunny but this time you are wrong...those 2 speakers are pretty similar...the fact is that they are both G12H30's!

There are some differences in the specs you can look at and see and you already know about the differences in price...look at it like this.

The non Heritage version is like the evoultion of the G12H30 from years ago while the Heritage version is a more true to the original reissue type speaker.

Look at it like the difference bewteen a 57 reissue Strat and a current American Standard Strat...both are Strats, and if you boil it down to the basics both sound pretty much the same but they are different in their own ways...neither better or worse than the other just different.

Re: What's the difference between the G12H30 and the G12H heritage?

...in other words, if you want a speaker that sounds like a G12H30, get a British made Heritage (or a Scumback). If want a speaker that sounds like something else, but for some reason has the G12H30 name, get the Chinese reissue.

Re: What's the difference between the G12H30 and the G12H heritage?

The real difference is that the Heritage G12H is actually the Bass speaker and the 'normal' G12H is the... guitar speaker. Other than that, one is made in England, the other in China, although that doesn't really mean a change in tone, at least when they switched the 'normal' production line from England to China, nobody heard a difference.
But don't let that fool you, both are used for guitars and they are both G12Hs.
Now wait and I'll dig out the specs...

Most users remark that the Heritage sounds a little smoother and sweeter

Others say you can barely tell the difference.

Hard to ever know.

G12H's need a LOT OF BREAK IN, some sya as much as 50 hours, and they soudn best LOUD LOUD LOUD. So you wil be hard pressed for good answers on this one above literal measure of quality of construction.
