Re: What's the difference between the Single Rectifier and the Rect-o-Verb?
I've heard the Rectoverb has a sweeter, warmer tone compared to the other Rectos. I haven't spent enough time with the others but I am really loving my Rectoverb combo, especially with EL34's :32: Soon to add a 412 with Eminence Governors and Private Jacks in an X... sweet.
I can confirm the better cleans. Why, I do not know but I do know the Rectoverb was just better and had more depth.

Yep, I have to enjoy it tomorrow while I can, I'm leaving for Colorado on Wednesday, and won't be back until Sunday. In the meantime my Avatar cab and couple pedals will be getting in as well
Re: What's the difference between the Single Rectifier and the Rect-o-Verb?
Its true... I've spent a lot of time with both amps (my best friend owns a Single Rec) and the rectoverb DOES seem to have sweeter, juicier cleans and the distortion seems to have a but more of a sweeter, more classic vibe as well. It can rage with the best of them but it's still got a really nice vibe to it when you plug EL34's into it. The cleans are better though, that is true.
Actually I chose the rectoverb on the grounds that it sounded the sweetest and warmest out of all the rec series amps. I didn't want something TOO vintage like a Maverick (although that amp feels and sounds AWESOME :32: ) but the Duals and Triples seemed too hard for me. This is just right.
