In the intro solo here, the diminished triad part playing on the 3d 5th and 7th of the E7 (the whole solo is just over Am and E7), what is going on with that D? I've been playing this song for a bit and although it's pretty cheezy, I can't help but liking it, I just wish I could figure out what the hell is going on there. He does it live as well so it's not terribly complicated or some trick...

Gimme the specific time range. Is it the hammer/pull thing during the 2nd bar (first chord change)? The thing starting at about 00:03:50 to 00:06:00?
