What's your acoustic strings choice,

I don't play nylon, but I'm a big fan of DRs for steel string. The Rare Phosphor Bronze sound amazing, but I kill a set in about 3 days. I usually use Dragon Skins and typically get 3-6 months out of a set depending on how much I play them.

I just bought some elixir 80/20 for the steel guitar but I haven't ordered anything for the nylon yet.
Are the dragon skins like elixirs?

Martin Marquis. Been using them on my D-28 for years. I tried D'Addario once, and only once. They sounded like garbage on it. The Martin strings is so much better.

I think the TT has titanium in it. And some kind of 'composite core'. They might be great, but I've never tried them.

before they went belly up, again, my favorite strings were snake oil strings for both acoustic and electric. i love the dr sunbeams but i play my acoustics so infrequently i got tired of putting a set on for a gig and having to replace them before the next acoustic gig cause they were dead so i slapped some elixer nanoweb phospher bronze on there. i almost always buy a box so when i run out of the elixers i will probably try some other coated string. i dont like the sound or feel as much of coated strings but for practical reasons, coated make the most sense for me. the elixers arent bad but i feel like there may be better things out there

D'Addario PB or Nickel Bronze 13-56, and the same but 16-56 on my square neck resonator.

I'd love to use 12-53 for easier playability, but there's an absurd dropoff in the tone from 13 to 12.

I used Elixir Nanowebs before switching to the DR Dragon Skins. They're not perfect, but the DRs sound a bit closer to an un-coated string IMO.

Martin marquis Silk&Steels almost always for steel string, they loose brights quickly but I don't mind their tone even after they "die" actually prefer it. Not picky at all on nylon, usually just whatever is cheap and available :) just no balled ends and light or normal tension, but haven't really tried many of the hard tension sets, if I have no choice in the matter I just snip the balled ends off before they can pop off on me.

Actually if anyone knows what is the difference in the 1/2 and 3/4 nylon sets is it just a gauge thing?

Martin Phosphor Bronze 13s on everything that can handle them. Silk and Steels on the guitar that is nearly 100 years old, and can't handle steel strings.

The nylon string...I forgot what's on it. It has been years.

Yeah I never change my nylons unless I get a new one, replace tuners or nut/saddle whatever I think I have one that's had same strings on it for 7-8 years now, might wanna look into a new set :D

When I actually studied classical guitar, and played daily, the strings would wear out pretty quickly, mostly due to the wound strings getting dented. But when they sit, they last forever.
