Whats Your Dream Rig????

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Arsenal of Strats, Teles, SGs, V's, Dinkys, and a Warlock into any amp with decent cleans and distortion...ummm I guess I'm not too picky.

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

this would do it for me...plus these guitars
my brian moore i1
my takamine
the "telehoss" that johnjohn is working on
les paul custom
ric 660
US standard strat or Hamer daytona
Us standard tele
an agile lp to experiment with or an edwards
a taylor acoustic
dreamrig1.jpg

all pedals "stratdeluxed" of course! :32:
that should do it...my list has shrunk quite a bit actually...lol...i'm trying real hard to be a "realist" when it comes to my future gear...lol :smack:

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Actually I have my dream rig (15 years of hard work and test drives :)). I always dreamed of being the only guitarist in the band but sonically mimicing as there were two. No new invention here, check Zakk Wylde's rig. My setup is:

2 different 50W EL34 hi-gain amps runned simultaneously, one of them must be a Marshall
2 different cabs with different character
a wireless unit
a noise gate
a stereo nastifier
a wah
a helluva Warmoth
a can of Heineken fuel for the gig

The only amp that sonically I like more than this double setup is the Diezel VH4S or a HackMan amp. They aren't any cheap but awesome. Surely, getting one (or a pair ;)) will be an another leap considering tone quality of mine - but until I can afford such an amp my actual heads will do what and how I love to play.

Maybe, later I need 2 more Warmoths with the same specs for backup and some variety in appearance :) For me G.A.S. stops somewhere here. I don't think I could enjoy more playing with a different this or that.

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Dream rig ?

- 2 Fender Twins for cleans

- 2 Marshall fifty watters non-MV with 2 4x12s
OR 2 Matchless Chieftain w/2 matching 4x12s

- Nice old 70's style strat (big head)

- Clapton ES-335

I'm already happy with my current efx.... I'd add a vintage Boss CE-1 however, and a Leslie :smokin:

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Hmmm...

I'd have to say various Custom Stratocaster and Custom EBMM Silhouette specials with humbuckers and Floyds on the Silos and various pickup/bridge types (SSS, HH, SSH for pickups and Floyds or Wilkinsons) on the Strats. I'd like a good vintage Les Paul Custom and an Eric Clapton signature acoustic in there too for good measure.

I'm an effects freak but i NEED my 535Q Fasel wah, my GE7 booster pedal, at least one good distortion pedal (I'm liking my Keeley Ultra DS1), my Digitech Whammy, a Chrous or Flanger, and a good digital delay unit. Those are my core effects.

As for amps: I'd like an old Jeff Seal modded JCM800 2205, a Bogner Ecstacy 101B metalfront, and a Soldano SLO100 metalfront for distortion-based sounds, all through G12H30 and Greenback cabs. For cleans a vintage Deluxe Reverb or Twin Reverb would be excellent. For in-between sounds I'd love a Bassman laquered 4x10 RI or a Mesa-Boogie Maverick.

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

See Signature ;)

Only missing a second 4x12 and a new wireless, like Necro I like having 2 different tones from different cabs and power tubes, although I think the difference with me is smaller than with him ;)

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Wow, I wanna rethink mine now:
Peavey Wolfgang Custom+Jackson KE2+McNaught vintage Single Cut---->
MSD Automagic SM-2+Keeley Compressor+Diamond Memory Lane+EHX Holier Grail Reverb+Digitech (original) Whammy+Red Witch Moon Phaser Deluxe+Fulltone Clyde Deluxe---->
Koch Powertone II w/ matching 2x12 cab (Jensen speakers)+Hughes & Kettner Triamp MK2 w/ Framus Cobra 4x12 cab+Bogner Uberschall w/ Uberkab+Van Weelden or Voodoo modded Marshall '69 Super Lead Plexi

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Pink Fender HM Strat with JB / single coil / Jazz

Fender Metal-Head Full Stack

Phase, Chorus, and Delay in the effects loop

I just need the guitar and amp, I've got the pedals covered...

Hmm... someday....

Rock On - Kac

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

I'm pretty content, although I could do with a 7 string that sets up better. Also I'd love to have a Mark 4 and an agile baritone(coming in the near future) for ****s.

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

A custom made Tweed twin circuit w/ reverb combo w/ 1 12 inch weber california and 1 10 inch weber california speaker, built by Scott of course. I would be buying one of his amps, but i needed an amp sooner than a month.

And a swamp ash strat with rosewood fretboard and texas hots, finished in nitro.

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

An original Fender Broadcaster through a wide panel Tweed Amp with a vintage Fender Reverb unit. I wish I had the cash.

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Kramer Voyager custom 7-string 30" bari 24/angled neck w/SH6s and an SH8 with mini-switches only and Optimus Prime as inlays on the fretboard and an autobot symbol on the body
+
Jackson KV bari 27" custom 27 w/SH6 and JB-mini w/only mini-switches and Thundercracker on fretboard and the decepticon symbol on the body
+
ESP CVP=V (the red, super-beveled, maple-fretboarded RR copy that's sick and played by a woman + it has SDs stock) w/no tone pot
+
ESP Maverick ebony w/jb and 59 combo w/ ROLLERBLADER on the inlays and an aggressive-skate silhouette on the body
+
ESP Horizon string-thru w/EMG 89 and 60 and carpenter-style switch and I LOVE JESUS on the fretboard and a cross on the headstock
+
Schecter Tempest Custom (not diamond) with minibuckers

into...
the used Marshall TSL that I like at the local GC, I dunno what the model is, 2x12...I'd probably replace the speakers with swamp thangs or black powders or whatever and build a cab for the sealed ones.
+
Crate BV300 and some cab which is awesome
+
Vox AC30

= t3h pwn4g3!

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

Wow, haven't seen this thread in a while.

Ok, this is what I have:

Don Grosh Bent Top Custom - purple - WCR SR/WCR SR/ HD Z90... probably my best "do it all" guitar

RI 0 Gibson LP Special DC - TV yellow - my fun rock and roll guitar. Gets some great blues/classic rock stuff and can cut it well with fusion and jazz (that neck p90 smokes)

Epiphone LP - heritage sunburst - Dimarzio Classic PAF bridge/ Dimarzio Bluesbucker neck - my beater, but I'm enjoying it; I will be getting the Bluesbucker in soon and it sounds like it will deliver the P90 neck type sound that I love. This will be my workhorse guitar no doubt.

Ovation 1771LX - cherry burst - nothing fancy, just good craftsmanship, a great preamp for acoustic amps and a nice unplugged tone, pretty much everything I need when I do play unplugged

Amp:

Fargen Epic 30 DC - I've had this thing since December '04 and it still gets regular use. This thing almost makes me stop looking completely, almost.

I'm very content with this setup alone. I find any one of my guitars I can use for a variety of styles and they're all a blast to play.

I wouldn't mind adding down the road (and I mean way down the road):
Gibson Les Paul Deluxe w/ minibuckers - the 30th anniversary one in wine red
Gibson RI9 ES-335 - vintage sunburst

For amps, perhaps something like a Divided by 13 FTR 37 or a Suhr OD-100... those two look the most interesting.

Re: Whats Your Dream Rig????

simplicity overcomes everything.... BIGGEST MARSHALL And..... a.... hmm.... any guitar... i think id have to say a Jackson USA Soloist
