What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man. Vintage, lo-fi, warm analogue, full of personality and tone. And plaenty of wierd noises to be coaxed from it.

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

line 6 echo park. hands down the finest delay pedal made. only delay pedal i have ever purchased due to previous pedals sounding like ass, and really affecting your tone. this one does, but in a good way, plus adds a volume boost if run between pre and power amp.
mine doesnt do the ticking that others have mentioned, but then again, i run my delay level quite low for just a bit of ambience.

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

The best I've tried was hands down the Maxon AD-999. Killer pedal. I A/B'd against the Fulltone TTE and I prefered the Maxon (I felt it was less hi-fi, warmer sounding, and had a more ambient vibe to the repeats than the TTE). Then again, (just to offer some perspective) I prefered the Roland RE-201 Space Echo to the Fulltone.....I liked the "imperfections" of it....felt it gave the delay more charicter than the TTE, though I can see why so many like the TTE so much.

I currently use a Boss DD-20. Also a good sounding, very flexible pedal IMO.

The best tape simulation I've heard thus far was in the Digitech DigiDelay....though I haven't had a chance to try out any high end boutique tape sim type delays.

One of my dad's jamming buddies from way back in the day has a real Echoplex. Wanna talk about fun? :D

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

i use a dd-6 which to be honest has alot fo pointless functions and the delay time is nuts do ir ealy need 5200 ms?!?!? i was looking for add-3 but i eneded up with a dd-6 kind of a mistake but oh well they do the same thing.

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

I don't use delay pedals, but if I did, I'd be gassing for a H&K Replex. Tube-driven, dual-head delay, reverb... a monster pedal...

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

I own and heart a Boss GigaDelay. It's a key element to my sound.

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

Boss DM-2

:beerchug:

The only delay pedal on my board. Basic, no frills. It's been there since I was in high school.

I have other excellent analog delays (Boss DM-2's, DM-3, Maxons, Arions, Ibanez), but the DM-2 is "it" to my ears.

PS: I can't stand digital delay. There is absolutely nothing digital between my strings and my speakers. :D

HEY.....I've got one & love it!

Not sure if I would've paid full price, but got a good deal on a barely used one.

Someone else around here has one...maybe The Chris...& loves it too.

The downside is it's BIG & the tube isn't exactly easy to get to...you have to pretty much take it apart to get to it.

Tell me about your favorite delay pedal or processor? Do you use more than one delay pedal on your board? Bill

I use a Boss ME-50 multieffects board with all the delays I could ever want. My favorite, if I were to use one, is either a light delay that sounds reverbish, or just a reverb (but normally I don't like the modelling I get with a reverb versus a delay set to sound like one), or a very heavy repeating style set at tempo with chorus so that I sound like a steel drum band sort of. Normally my three pedals on my favorite bank are set:

1) Fat blues OD with a small amount of delay for a very slight reverb,
2) Lead style OD+DS with a touch of chorus and delay,
3) Chorus with a slight delay.

Then in manual mode I have:
1) Blues driver
2) Chorus
3) Delay ~200ms

In manual I can selectively turn on or off the individual pedals as if they truly were individual compact pedals.

Hope this helps.

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

+1 for the Boss DD-3. I've been using it for years and I'm very pleased with it. It has alot of useful settings including a hold feature that I like...

Re: What's Your Favorite Delay Pedal????

Yes, I know it's time to clean up, vacuum and take some new pics...

Again, I have 2 analog delays, the Boss and the Washburn in the upper right. I like the Washburn more.
