What’s your favorite delay pedal?

i still have the cc, and its fine, but i do like the vapor trails better. on my big board i run a vapor trails for my longer delays for solos, and a dark sun for everything else. programmable with delay and reverbs in the same unit is nice for sure. im sure the h90 does it even better. but, again, my delay needs are much simpler than most

i like the boss dm2 as well, different voicing than the cc or vt, but they sound good to me. i have an rv-3 as well. its a good utility pedal but i prefer the delays i get from the vapor trail better

Source Audio Collider. It's dual delay and reverb but can be set as dual delay when needed.

I love the one in the Yamaha MagicStomp, but the one I use the most, (subtly), is the one built in to my Bogner Alchemist. It sounds about as good, and "it's already there", so to speak.

A related question; what delay LEAST affects (i.e., drops) the volume and darkens the tone? I've only tried a couple cheapies, and they both seem to do that to one degree or another.

The cleanest delay I've tried is the "Simple Delay" in my HX Effects. What goes in comes back out. The Boss digital delays are pretty clean too. I dunno about high end units.

digital delays are almost always cleaner and clearer than analog. as far as volume drop... i havent noticed that with the delays that i use

So, for the "settings on the fly" crowd - that whole bend-down-and-adjust thing is horse pucky. It's 2024

- Get a multi and use presets
- Get a Flashback/DL4 or something
- Get a cheap little Mooer/Mosky/Donner etc...

Bend over and adjust on the fly? Just no.
