What’s your favorite strap?

I usually use Nylon, I like the Levy’s ones that are a little thicker and have the nice tabs where the button/locks go. I bought an expensive, thick Levy’s leather one for my acoustic and between the tab being so thick it slips off the piece Jack end jack and the suede underside I’m kind of not liking it.

I think I like a well balanced guitar that doesn’t need a grippy strap, then a strap that slides freely. Maybe I need a double sided leather strap.... or maybe just keep using the nylon ones! Ha

Anyway, what are your favorites, the Warmoth will need a new one.

3" wide leather straps with a rough inside are perfect for heavy guitars (I've got a 4" one for my very heavy maple bodied J-Bass). If the leather won't initially fit properly on the end of your guitar, take it off and use a C-clamp to squish the leather that goes around the end pins - after that it should work well.

On lighter weight guitars I really like basic Levy's cloth straps with leather ends. Nylon is usable, but too slippery for some guitars.

For most of mine, the classic Ernie Ball 2" nylon works perfectly. For my Les Paul I use a 3" leather strap. Much more comfortable with that one.

You know, I bet these Levy straps are cotton.

I like groovy ones with patterns that look like stained glass or acid flowers.

I only use others to solve a practical problem, like I put gold Grovers on my SG and now it neck dives, so I use a wide 3-4" cotton woven strap that holds it in place perfectly.

I've got three straps and each is at least 15 years old: two cheap ernie ball nylon and one heavier nylon from the J. Garcia line. Never saw the point in fancy straps.

This guy near my hometown makes great straps

"The Dog Tired Premium guitar strap is hand-made in Oklahoma using only the best materials including a 100% cotton core and 5 oz suede leather ends. It's over twice as thick as standard cotton straps and offers superior comfort with 8 rows of stitching. It adjusts from 36" - 64", and just as with our standard straps, it comes with a pair of rubber "beer bottle" washers to help hold it securely and to add to the cool factor."

I have a ton of fancy straps people have bought me and I always come back to 2-inch nylon straps.

I'll try anything once, twice if I like it. It looks like straps are to me like pedals are to LBP. Hmm... but one must accessorize. Besides, we all know how it affects tone.

These aren't even all of them. These were in a box.

I have a bunch of straps from inexpensive to custom made paid too much and everything in between. The 2 inch seat belt material are the most comfortable (for me) and almost the least expensive that I own. I think they are a couple bucks more than the Ernie Ball straps (which I also like) for a simple strap.

I have a bunch of Levy's woven black cotton I think? 2-1/2" White stick down the outside edges, tooled leather ends. Really comfortable and they hold up well

I like the Dimarzio clip locks most. The nylon planet waves are also good. I would like them the most if they had the cliplock system, ha!

I have three of the 3" Levy's for the guitars that I gig with, and a couple nylon & cotton cheapies for the ones that stay around the house.

That is an interesting strap, as most leather straps don't have a buckle like that- which is why I don't go for them. I might have to try it. Most leather straps use some kinda origami slat system, and I always fall between the adjustments. As the strap stretches over time, it gets worse.

Nylon straps cut into my neck.

So, I use plain black cotton with a buckle.

I also dig the recycled material of Couch Straps...this is the one I use with my Eastman 335-alike.
