Re: What's your favourite Les Paul???

I have a studio now---had a standard--can't really tell much difference between them. The Studio is by far the best value. I had a 73 Goldtop deluxe with mini-humbuckers when I was a kid that I regret selling each and every day :smack: -cheers!--JIMO

None of them. The only model I halfway liked was the "The Paul".

Re: What's your favourite Les Paul???

Of the 9 or 10 Les Pauls I've owned, my favorite is the Custom Shop Elegant. The ebony fingerboard plays great, the neck shape ( round and medium fat ) is perfect, and the tone is sweet. The chambered body lets me play with no shoulder or back aches and it reduces the midrange while accenting the highs and lows (less mud, more chime). The quilt top and black pearl abalone inlays are beautiful!

custom - ivory with all gold hardware and pup covers ...my cousin had a new one in '76 and pawned it for dope money ... as if drugs arent bad enough for your body, when it clouds your judgement bad enough to get rid of a gorgeous axe you KNOW it's time to just say no

I like a flame top and a 60's neck. So a Standard Flametop would be my first choice, followed closely by a Classic Premium Plus. Customs don't do much for me, but there are one or two that I could be talked into.

I voted Studio, though I've never had a Standard or Custom.

But you know, I'm tiring of LPs. The single cut gets in the way and they're so freakin' heavy, I just feel like I'm being dragged down by it. I'm really considering maybe grabbing an SG.

Wow....Just saw this one on the Gibson Custom site... I think I might be a little short in the cash dept for this though
