What's you're idea of a beginner amp?

Re: What's you're idea of a beginner amp?

The Roland Cube 30 is a great little amp. Excellent amp models and built-in digital FX. Some of the FX are a bit harsh, but they still make for a great training ground.

The Tech 21 Trademark 60 is better still, but costs more.

When my 13-year-old son and his friend are jamming they use the Cube 30 and my Jubilee - both infinitely better amps than what I started with back in 1974. :D

If you're looking for practice amps, the Roland Cubes, especially the micro-cube or cube 15 are decent in that they give you versatility.

i agree on that one. with little worries, that the cubes provide to
much possibilities to play around instead of practicing guitar :laugh2:

my first amp was an marshall mg15 - i really hated it and wouldn't
recommend it
I would say the higher wattage cubes maybe, but the 15 i have only has a clean, with 4 OD/Dist settings and thats it (one of which i dont count because its really bad. Basically a scooped to death "metal stack" setting). Not too much. £60 not bad i think. Now i do wonder if i should have got a good modelling amp instead, but hey the cube does the job.
