When buying used: How can you SEE the difference between Keeley and Stock TS-9?

Re: When buying used: How can you SEE the difference between Keeley and Stock TS-9?

Speaking of op-amps... Does this hold any water?

I would think this is correct except with regard to noise. All the clipping in the clipping circuit comes from the diodes, right? The op-amp isn't doing any clipping, so as long as it's in its designated linear region, the op-amp shouldn't matter, again, except for noise. Is this correct theoretically? Does it hold up in practice?

In my experience, the op amp makes very little difference with clipping, but a LOT of difference with compression, dynamics, and feel. These are things that don't come across very well in a YouTube demo.
