how do you guys know its an ibanez??

Description
A friend of mine had this made 5 years ago in the Duncan custom shop, he just changed to p90s and gave me this. Has a great warm but not muddy sound. VERY FAT and can kick some great muddy waters type tones.

yeah the sadest part is that the sellers may really think they are what they say?
:saeek:

Re: when did duncan start making the ibanez powersounds?

Regarding the Seth Lover...that is a genuine pickup. Fender hired Seth Lover for a brief period in the 70's in an attempt to compete in the humbucking guitar field. He couldn't produce a six adjustable pole piece HB since Gibson still held the patent, so he did the 3/3 covered pole piece config.

I would love to have one of those....they seem fairly rare.

****edit *****

Seth Lover joined the Fender Company in 1967. He took into account Fender's inclination to a brighter sound by keeping a little more brilliance in the Fender pickup's tone than there was in the Gibson.

The patent had not quite run out, so Mr. Lover designed for Fender a pickup that looked slightly different - it has staggered sets of three poles visable on the cover, as opposed to the straight line of six poles seen on a gibson cover.

Re: when did duncan start making the ibanez powersounds?

I emailed the original seller, and told them that it wasn't an SD. They seemed glad to know, and were just going by what their friend told them. I also invited them to join this forum.

We'll see what happens. ;)

I hope this doesn't backfire. I think baltimoregoods is fairly young, and I invited them to join our friendly group by providing a link to this thread.
He's going to drop by here and see that we're calling him a moron. :smack:

I hope he doesn't take it too personal. ;)
