When Did Flatiron Mandolins Move Production Overseas?

I've owned a few of the mandolins over the years. Mostly Festival F5 models. All were built in Montana and were a division of Gibson (I think Gibson bought them out in the 90's but not sure). I've had one of their original A models as well that was made before the buyout.

A friend of mine told me about a guy that had one of the F5 Festival series that he was wanting to sell and only wanted $700 for it. I got a hold of the owner and was planning on buying it, but it was made in Asia I can't remember if it was Korea or what). It was a damn fine looking instrument and seemed to be built with the same quality of materials and craftsmanship as the older Montana stuff I have had, but I passed on it.

Just wondering if any of you guys might know when they moved the production overseas?
