When is seymour duncan going to update the specs chart?

Re: When is seymour duncan going to update the specs chart?

very nice. i think thats one of the most complete descriptions ive ever seen for a pup.

when it comes to the clips, you need to use good speakers. what sounds very similar on crappy computer speakers sounds quite different on a good stereo

Re: When is seymour duncan going to update the specs chart?

Super highs, highs, mid highs, mids, mid bass, bass, subwoofer.
that is the correct E.Q. control
but BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE Is Enough i guess.

I would like to see him update the sound samples as well. That would include samples of the twangbanger and perhaps even the pickup booster with resonant switch.

Sincerely,

Re: When is seymour duncan going to update the specs chart?

My computer is to slow to tell the clips apart, my ear "memory" is not good enough to ear a different clip and say oh that one has more bass, or just a tad less trebble. I listen to like 10 different clips and they all sounded the same.

I know the 3 EQ graph and the DC resistance is what helps me, this is what i look for. maybe the artist who plays it would help get an idea of the tone but for now i just look at those 2 things. I like to have pole adjustments if there were 10 pickups all in the 10K resistance range (10k is my favorite) i would pick the one with the best bottom end and both coils with adjustable poles.

Im sorry if this was brought up before. I was curious about a few other pickups and could never find any specs on em.

One of the things that's going to help out a lot is the new product descriptions which will be incorporated into the next catalog and website. They'll be things like this:

SH-1 ’59 Model™

Application:
Versatile P.A.F.-type humbucker. Great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock.
Description:
Late-‘50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound. Warm and crystalline clean tones. Full and bright distorted tones. Smooth sustain. Classic appointments include plain enamel wire, long legged bottom plate, vintage single conductor cable and no logo. Compared to the SH-55 Seth Lover, the ’59 has slightly more scooped mids and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.
Complete Setup:
Available for both neck and bridge positions. Often a ‘59 neck is used together with a hotter bridge pickup like the SH-4 JB or SH-13 Dimebucker for extra versatility.
Guitars:
For balanced and warm instruments. Works especially well with mahogany bodies and rosewood fingerboards.
Available Mods:
Four-conductor cable. Nickel or gold-plated cover. Trembucker. 7-string version. Seymour Duncan logo. Available in matched set of ’59 bridge and ’59 neck.
Players:
Jimmy Page (neck & bridge), Ben Harper (bridge), Robben Ford (neck & bridge), Mike Einzinger / Incubus (neck), Dimebag Darrell / Damageplan (neck).
USA MSRP:
$99

Hopefully, these new descriptions will be much more informative and will help you make the right pickup choice.
