you shouldnt need a foot switch for reverb on an old fender amp. reverb is active by default, trem is off by default.

the stand alone is a very different thing than the built in reverb on fenders classic amps. the biggest change is where it sits in the signal chain

My ex-G/F has a '64 Blackface and a '77 Silverface. I think she paid $350 for the Blackface (in really good shape, it was a killer deal) and $600 or so for the Silverface. I definitely prefer the Blackface one, but the difference is pretty small to my ears, and if you really want to get closer to the Blackface, just stick a 6k6 tube in it instead of the 6v6 and you make up most of the ground.

That thing is going to sound killer through your Bassman. I used to run my Gretsch through the Blackface and her 68 Bassman, add a little slapback from my Carbon Copy and it was Rockabilly heaven. Nothing quite beats out a dedicated reverb head.

I brought it home and played it with my Mesa, and that was incredible. I'm going to go jam with some friends tomorrow. I'll obviously be accompanied by the tank, but also my 70s crybaby, my wombtone phaser, my Timmy, my El Capistan, and my trusty Scarab deluxe.

It will be a treat.
