Where can I order a cabinet?

I've been searching for an empty cabinet to load chosen speakers on.
Most custom amp dealers sell them for 200$ or more (even the 1X12 cabinets).
Do you know of an online dealer who sells or makes cabinets at a lower price?

Do you know anybody with a saw ? If it has to be el cheapo, nothing beats doing it yourself.

I'm pretty good with a saw... I even have one in my bedroom (don't ask)...

I did want some pro touch on it... but the 200$ price tag is a little over the top IMO...

You tend to get what you pay for. And, being in Israel might make it a bit more expensive.

You might try to find a local guy that makes kitchen cabinets and tell him what you are after. If you're willing to tolex it or stain it yourself, you might get a good deal.

Yeah, being in Israel is a drag for amps.. You have many guitars at fair prices (although Israel is exensive, even more then Europe...) but I guess amps are too heavy for shipping...

If we consider DIY, what sort of woods should I use... and is there a schematic for the right way to cut the stand for the speaker inside the cabinet?

Check out the Weber Speaker forums and click on the Amp Cab portion. There is a wealth of info there at the top of the page.

If you're going to cover it, you can use Baltic Birch ply or solid pine. Pine is nice and lightweight and has a lovely tone to it. (thnk fender stuff).

If you're not going to cover it and you want to stain it, then just pick a wood.

It's easy to do this in an open back design. There's very little to calculate. If you're going to make a closed back, you need to look at that weber site and do some calculations.
