I would search "Warmoth". Good deals can sometimes be had.

i got a USA strat with the most beautiful warmoth flame maple/brazilian rosewood neck and fralin vintage hot pickups for 500

Another idea would be to buy the aftermarket parts and assemble it yourself.

It's actually not that hard.

+1 on the warmoth...i was looking for a second hand strat a while ago on ebay and a mate put me onto the warmoth strat i then went ahead and bought and i can honestly say its the best sounding and playing strat ive ever, and probably will ever play!!!
