If you wanna stay passive, I'd say go with Pearly Gates neck and Custom 5 bridge or for the best deal go with the Hot Rodded Humbucker set = matched set of Jazz neck and JB bridge - awesome for all rock and metal styles!

I would also highly recommend going active and try out the AHB-1 Blackouts set! Rock and Metal with killer harmonics!:headbang:

If youre throwing around the words Sabbath and ACDC, try......
Custom 5/59 or
Custom 5/Jazz

A friend of mine has an SG with a JB/Pearly Gates combo and he swears by it but I find the guitar in general to be too bright.

You should be pleased with them. They're made for SG's.

I just got done playing my 100% stock 1998 SG Std. **** I love the 490R/498T set, WITH THE STOCK MAGNETS :lol:

They just seem to have a great vocal quality to them. I was playing classic Black Sabbath, and **** if this isn't Iommi's tone.

SG's with p90'S = Classic tone!!! IMO

ANYTHING with p90's = AWESOME TONE!!

I always liked a Screamin' Demon/59 set in my SG. Have had it that way for years.

Before that I had Gibbo's 500T/496R set, before that a JB/490R set and right now its got EMGs, which sound kinda poopy.
