which 4x12 Cab should i get?

I'm going to be needing a new cab for my Peavey JSX soon and i want something that wi'll pur out a good metal sound but also not make the clean channel sound harsh in any way.

I've been recommended a mesa trad. for a great metal sound but i hear mesa cabs give you a harsh clean sound.. any suggestions?

I prefer Marshall cabs overall for sound, but my Carvin Legacy 4x12 sounds excellent and performs very well. The Mesa cabs tend to sound a bit dark to my ears but some people prefer that.

go to pawn shops man! at one ezpawn here in my city they have a marshall jcm series 1960 4x12 for $250 !

I have no idea, but ive had a lot of trouble getting one here ( they dont ship to the uk), though after hearing one with a 5150 head i want one..

****s all over my marshall cab and the mesa cabs ive heard.

I dont rate Marshall cabs, having played through a 5150 cab with more than one amp... it just has more mids (in a good way) and cuts through more.


Marshall cabs sound decent live, but the gt75 ones (standard 1960) just dont cut through enough, they sound decent.. but they dont cut through..

also i find they can be muddy sounding cabs.


Yes they are good, but theres better... splawn are 5 times better.

Have you checked out Avatar?

I have no experience with them whatsoever, however most everyone on forums I've been to has had nothing but the best with their cabs.

well I made an error. Sorry for trying to help out. :smack:

P.S. I've got an email into Splawn to see if they ship to Canada. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon and I'll let'ya know.
