Which bridge PU for my Agile LP?

Hi All,

I have an all mahogany Les Paul (Agile 3000) with an ebony fretboard. The stock PU's are ok but I wanted to upgrade to a Duncan in the bridge. Cleans are fairly important, but a killer alternative rock/Classic Rock overdrive tone is key for this guitar. Think U2, Live, Third Eye Blind, Led Zep.

The "Pickup Wizard" suggests a 59, but I've heard good things about the PG as well.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Tom

I'd go APH-1n - PGb
or
59 both positions
or if you want more output
59n - Custom 5 bridge

For the tones you want, I'd go with a full set of 500k CTS pots, .022 Orange Drop caps, 50's style wiring, and a pair of 59's, set low into the pickup rings with the poles raised up (that'll do for Live and U2) .

I don't know what pots and caps are...but I do have a soldering gun and install my own pickups. Where can I buy caps and pots, and how do I learn how to install them?

Thanks!

pots are potentiometers, they are variable resistors which are your volume and tone controls...caps are capacitors, you need those for your tone control to be a tone control.

Try a 59n and a C5 bridge, or for smoother tones a Aph neck and a CC bridge,

there are lots of options,
