Hello guys !

Which is in your opnion the best chorus pedal that is being produced nowdays ? I´m going to Guitar Center on Friday and i need some help choosing the right one. I´m playing stuff like Guns N´Roses (paradise city, knocking on heavens door, Led Zeppelin (stairway to heaven), Deep Puple (when a blind man cries), Old-Metallica (fade to black, one, sanitarium), and Rush ...

So which chorus unit would you buy to cover these sounds ... or at least most of them ?

1)MXR 134 Stereo Chorus
2)Ibanez CS-9
3)Visual Sound H20 Liquid Chorus & Echo
4) "Other" (please post name and gimme some ideas) ...

Thank You All

This one, I've used them all, it can still be found cheap on the 'bay.

Re: Which Chorus pedal to pick ?!

Maybe not the top of the line boutique. But my good Ole' Boss CH-1 super chorus has fulfilled all my chorus needs from Andy summers,Boston,12 string guitar emulation (i.e.) Stairway to Heaven. And a whole bunch of other songs I'd prefer not to mention from when I played in a :Cough:Top 40 band.

Re: Which Chorus pedal to pick ?!

Frankly most Boutique is simply overrated, there are a few good ones that makes their own stuff, the rest are simply cloners...and the old tried and true pedals simply works, and they often sound great as well.
Nothing wrong with good ole Boss:D

B4 I got my CH-1. I had one of these. DOD FX-67. If your running 2 amps in sterio... This pedal is wicked! It's like two pedals in one. Unfortunately a one trick pony... But a Damm good trick.

+1 to the boss chorus . . . they just sound great, and never seem to fail on you (I traded mine years ago for an amp with built in chorus and I regret it).

Re: Which Chorus pedal to pick ?!

I have a BOSS CE5 Chorus Ensemble myself. It doesn't doo anything too fancy, but it works well and sounds good so that's fine by me :)

Yup..... I like this one too Ken. I have this on my board that I use with my Deluxe Reverb. My "home" board has a CE2. Out of the 2 which are the only 2 I have used I would say the CE2 sounds better, and it has less knobs so it works for me:beerchug:

Re: Which Chorus pedal to pick ?!

ANY of the Boss units are great, CE-2, CE-3, CE-5, CH-1. I love my CH-1. Done a few mods to it too. The only other one that costs more than the Boss units that I would even consider is the Visual Sound H2O. Great unit, great quality, paired up with a nice Echo, and since I know who was involved in the design, I know it's done top notch.

Who was involved in the design? Sorry about the hijack.

R.G. Keen along with Bob, who runs Visual Sound. He's worked with them on other things too, the J&H pedal, and just recently he designed the Workhorse Amps. He's a regular at the DIY forum I'm a member of. Great guy with loads of knowledge and isn't afraid to share it when asked. In fact, R.G. is now Chief Engineer.

WoW thanks !

I won´t go boss this time, i have been messing up with my friends boss CE-5 and founded it to be much artificial...

I loved the sounds on Retro-Sonic site ... really nice pedal, but its kinda of to expensive right now, and i don´t live in the USA and i won´t think i´ll find one of these here in Brazil.. Of cIouse i can import but ... LOL ...

So between the CS-9, MXR 134 (i think the guy from Rush uses that, also Randy Rhoads,, RIP) ... which one ?

Thank You All
