Which combo for a Cort G290?

Re: Which combo for a Cort G290?

Please give a followup post with how it works out!

[And sorry I missed your post on the 11th, but yes, parallel resistance is calculated (500*997)/(500+997) = 333K

Log vs Linear is one of those feel arguments, different people like different response out of their controls. A resistor in parallel changes the taper anyways, so I'd probably start from linear for that.]

Re: Which combo for a Cort G290?

Hi! All done!
Some changes from "original project". I choose 500K pot (one push-pull for coils hum cancelling/true single coil state), but just to verify the differences between a components and another. I wired all so that in future will be pretty easy change the electronics, and imo this is the only way to learn the peculiarity of every single component, and at same time doing some experience.
By the way, I'm completelly satisfied of new sound: PATB "roar" and versatility is truly amazing and the S6 give that "brilliant touch" (without loose the shape of sound) at every picking missing before. I love it.

I cannot hear differences from hum-cancelling and true sc configuration. I'm sure that everything is wired correctly... so I'll investigate a little bit more.

Thanks again to all!!!

J.

Thank you for reporting back. I, for one, am happy that you are happy with your upgraded Cort G Series guitar. I am currently modifying one of the cheaper models myself.

Glad it's doing what you want!

Only difference between hum-cancelling and not should be noise, in the Stack Plus series. Maybe a very tiny hint more presence. Hopefully doesn't take you too long to nail that down.
