A Coolrails is a single-coil SIZED humbucker....
Normally, when people refer to "HSH", it's understood that the order is Neck, Middle, Bridge.. As such, HSH means that there is a HB in the neck, an SC in the middle, and another HB in the bridge.... A SSH would be like a Fat Strat where 2 SC's are in the neck and middle, and a HB resides in the bridge.... Just to help void confusion....
I assume that you are installing a CoolRails in a guitar that formerly had a SC in the middle position
Anytime the red-white wires are soldered together and taped over, there is no splitting going on...
Here is one that shows a Middle SC, but if you wire it according to diagram and just solder/tape the red/white leads from the Cool Rail, it will ALWAYS be full HB when selected... The neck and bridge would be split when selected in positions 2 and 4... In positions 1 and 5, they would be full HB...
