It depends on what I'm playing. Generally speaking, I prefer the sound of single coils. I generally don't like pickups too hot and humbuckers can get that way. I'd rather start with a good clean tone and add gain from the amp or boosters rather than get it from my pickups. I don't like hot rails for that reason, I can't seem to get a good tone from them.

i would say buckers definately for the styles of music i play and the general versatility of the humbucker...but as its been said so many times in this thread... it all depends on the style of music you play

in the neck i love both, but in the bridge, ONLY humbuckers are REAL

I grew up with singles....as much as I like humbuckers, and that is alot mind you.
Singlecoils is my thing in the long run.

Humbuckers.....but I like to be able to split the neck pup.

I use both and enjoy the tone of both. I voted for Humbuckers because I use them more.

You know, humbuckers are fun, and they can be loud and crazy and all that, but all you NEED are singles. Just get a Pickup Booster and you've got all the crazy gain you'll ever WANT!! :13:

Singles just have so much more definition and clarity. Hummers are full of mud.

The best of both worlds:
A STAG MAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then you have a single coil which you can double to a humbucker or vice versa.
Both in one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a bucker man for years and years, but recently I have really started to enjoy the tone of a single coil pickup. I would have a hard time chooseing one or the other.

I love Humbuckers and Single Coil pups.
They both serve there own purpose.

it's gotta be hums or single coil sized hums for me..i like nice thick sound and singles just can't get that for me.

I voted for humbuckers, because if I could only have one pickup for the rest of my life, it would have to be a humbucker in the bridge.

That said, I greatly prefer single coils for neck pickups, which I find myself using almost 40% of the time.
