I'm looking into buying a Fuzz and want one of these.

Wampler Velvet Fuzz

OR

Ramble FX TwinBender

Re: Which Fuzz would you choose?

ive played the velvet and its a really nice pedal. i prefer my fuzz in the face variety but they can be cantankerous and arent for everyone

Re: Which Fuzz would you choose?

I voted for the wampler... But honestly prefer over those just a Dunlop mini fuzz face for an affordable one... if you want something way out there check out a ZVEX fuzz factory 7.. haven't played one but they sure look fun on the YouTube vids...

Zvex Fuzz Factory 7 with Gibson Les Paul & Dr Z A…: http://youtu.be/xHMOpoxyHQQ

NO experience with the Wampler . . . and i own a Twin Bender for a reason . . . so my vote goes to the . . . .

Gonna listen to the Wampler clips now.

Re: Which Fuzz would you choose?

How are you going to use the Fuzz? The Wampler seems a bit of a "fuzz for dummy's". Set it up straight into your clean amp with your standard pedal chain and it does its thing. No impedance issues to worry about (overdrives, buffers and wah headaches, etc.) The Tonebender is much more along the lines of a traditional fuzz. You'll need to run it into an amp with a little grit to smoth those high overtones, and to realy get it to sound "good".

So if these two are the ones you are considering, the way you use them may be a determining factor.

Have fun! :)

Re: Which Fuzz would you choose?

Have had my Velvet practically since they came out - haven't looked back since.

To be objective, if you have a specific fuzz sound in your head that you're looking for, go with whichever one gives you that sound. If you're like me and go back & forth between different sounds, the Velvet is a great all-around choice. Go with your ears!

Re: Which Fuzz would you choose?

The Ramble sounded really fizzy to me. I prefer my fuzzes to be all the distortion so I would go with the wampler.
