The Standard. It's the classic Paul that everyone needs. I like 'em all, and clones are a serious option (Epiphone, Tokai, others)...I'd say neck size is #1 consideration and then be sure to listen to a Custom w/ Ebony and Rosewood on a Standard.

NEVER buy one of these on-line. Gibson Quality Control sucks big hairy moose ^%$^%.

Custom. Gotta have that ebony fretboard to add a bit of snap back into a lester.. but then the basic design is damn close to prefect

+1. I'm not a big rosewood fan, though some aren't too bad.
