Which guitar bodiy woods are best suited for a JB with an Alnico 2 magnet?Would it be best suited to a Mahogany Bodied guitar ie. Gibson Explorer or Flying V? Neck through type ie. Jackson Randy Rhoads, such as the RR5? I have two Alnico 2 magnets that pulled out of my two TB-11's,and I'm wondering what to do with one of them,if I don't sell the SH-4 that I have for sale.
I put an Alnico 5 magnet in one of the TB-11's that I have, from a neck position 59,which now has an A4 magnet residing in that. I'm wondering if that would sound good in an Alder bodied Strat with pickguard (HH,no middle pickup). The fingerboard will be rosewood on a Maple neck. If I don't sell that SH-4 JB,I'll probably wind up keeping the bloody thing,so I'll be able to experiment with what future guitar it goes into. An Epiphone Korina bodied Explorer maybe? Or would the SH-14 Custom 5 be better suited to that, for playing Hard edged Classic Rock and Hair Metal.Thanks.:scratchch
