Hello!
Im putting together a set of pickups on a CIJ st-72 Strat, this guitar will be mainly a recording axe for getting Hi Gain DIstortion / Fuzz, so im looking for low noise / humbucker thick sound.

My main priority is the neck pickup, which is the one I use mostly for these sounds.
I have SD little´59 in several strats, but in the bridge position.

I wonder which of these pickups will fit the purpose better and why?

-little`59
-little´78
-Hot Rails
-JB jr.
-Cool rails
-Duck buckers
- .... other ?

The Middle pickup will probably be a Lindy Franlin Split Blade Strat , the Bridge will be a Lindy Fralin Split Steel Pole.

I'd say the Little '59 and Hot Rails are the choices here for the EQ you want. Hot Rails bridge is higher output than the L59, but the cool thing about Hot Rails is that if you add a switch, it sounds great in parallel, too.

When you say high gain fuzz what are you looking for? A Matt Pike type of tone?

Kinda, Im into slower and "major based" stoner/doom and Pike`s to is more aggresive, faster, "minorish".
A typical sound would be a Big Muff with "sustain"/drive at 12` o`clocl with tone al 9 o`clock.
Other way to put it is to have enought gain to the amplitude of the pick attack is even with the aplitude of the sustain.

Can he switch be set to have the pickup turn in simple coil? that wound be great to have the option.
Can this be done with L59 or L78 also?
You can turn most little humbuckers into single coils but honestly, it isn't a great sound. They sound better in parallel.
