Which Humbucker for Tele bridge ?

Hi Guys

I need some advise please,

I want to replace the humbucker in my Tele's bridge, could u recommend a pickup that will sound great, especially when it is tapped ?

Im looking for great string definition, open top end twangy sound, less mids, I play mostly chords.

I have a Fender modern player tele plus, pine body, maple fretboard, gloss polyester finish. It came out with a humbucker in bridge which is poor and sounds muffled. Also have a strat style pickup in middle and tele style pickup in neck, with 5 way tone switch and coil tap

What kind of music do you play? Which amp do you use? Do you play clean or distorted? More info would be really helpful.

welcome to the forum!

a stagmag would be cool, you could split it and get a real single coil sound and even the humbucker sound isnt as mid heavy as a gibson style bucker.

i also think a prails with triple shot ring would be sweet. lots of cool options. the series might be stronger than you need but youd still have the rail, p90 and parallel options that would be great for rhythm work

Id say the custom 5 would be great. Nice and scooped, still pretty strong at a 7k ohms when split. Like a juiced up 59.

If you want Beefy but twangy I whole heartedly suggest the Phatcat but if its a Humbucker you crave i'd go with the Pearly Gates.

My suggestion is a TV Jones Classic Plus Filter'Tron style pickup. You will need either a 'Tron mounting surround or a new one-piece bridge with a 'Tron sized cut out.

Hi Jake, the kind of music I play pop / rock, I play with a little overdrive, I normally scoop the mids out,
I m looking to get a Marshall plexi kind of amp,

At the moment I play through a Fender Deluxe Red 40w,

Beautiflul guitar you have there
