Jomo's Nimions
Both are around $160 (used). I don't care about bullsh*t like mp3 players, phrase trainers, loopers, etc... What I DO care about is sound quality, quick patch changes, ease of editing in a live situation, etc...

So, vote and explain! :D

I should add, I owned a Digitech RP100 and hated it, but I've liked every Boss product I've tried.

Re: Which is the better buy?

I have played a RP100 and I agree, IT SUCKS!!! I dont know which one to choose because I have never played either. Based on the digiteks and boss stuff I have played, I would say the boss with out a doubt is better. BTW, I am wondering, what kind of amp do ya play through?

Re: Which is the better buy?

The amp is either my tiny Stone practice amp, or my drummer's Peavey solid-state stack. The Peavey is soon to be joined by a (tube) Peavey Rockmaster preamp, though.

Re: Which is the better buy?

My friend has the Boss and really likes it and I like it as well. I in general hate everything digitech.

Re: Which is the better buy?

To be honest, neither. The boss would be better than the digitech, though.

That explains why the invader works really well for you. The best sounds I ever got from an invader was with solid state amps, mostly small ones that were not great amps to start with. I remember playing the invader for the first time. I was in small music store and I was playing a Kramer Baretta through a small peavey, it was allright but, I saw a Tom Delonge start in the store and I plugged it in. It sounded good (at the time) through the amp. It sounded 3 times better than the Kramer Baretta that I was playing before. I would say, Get a really good amp setup and you will not want anything to do with Floorboards.

I want the processor more for effects than gain/modeling. I like effects enough to have some, but not enough to put the money into individual stomp boxes.

I got ya!! I wish there was a decent sounding floorboard that just has effects (no distortions) and dosent color the sound so badly. It has to be user friendly though. That would actually be a great idea.

Re: Which is the better buy?

The Peavey Rockmaster has a button on the footswitch for effects. I don't know a lot about electronics more complicated than the inside of a guitar, but I'm assuming this button switches the effects loop in and out of the circuit, so it won't matter if the effects are ultra-noisy.

Why neither?

Those floorboards are tone killers, plain and simple, and tend to sound average at best.

In my opinion it's better to save for a while and get a few pedals over time than to get an all-in-one unit that promises the kitchen sink and delivers the toilet.

Re: Which is the better buy?

Boss GT-3 for sure if ur set on that sort of thing.

Personally I would do what Hot_Grits suggested.

Re: Which is the better buy?

I'm going to say the ME-50. I think if you buy the optional Boss footswitch you can get patch changes quicker than you can say "Mashed Potato". You could possibly get them faster than that, but I can't be too sure.

Anyway, the ME-50 sounds exactly like what you're looking for. The real-time knobs and lack of digital menus/loopers/phrase trainers/belly-button lint will make for "patch changes" and "ease of editing" and probably even the "sound quality" thing too. I dunno, a lot of people don't like the ME-50, but I think for people who want fast/easy effects that's the way to go.

Yamaha made a floorboard just like what you're describing. I think it's called the UD stomp.
